❝ A blessing in disguise? BBC Good Food Fair 2015 ❞

Chanced upon the BBC Good Food Fair today just because I had my physio in the same building. Got in for free, without having to queue to boot! It didn't help that I literally just baked a cake a few hours before:

I couldn't sleep at night because... Well firstly I had a nap after I got home, and secondly because I thought my cake failed massively despite all the effort I put in. My cream just would not set, and I was absofuckinglutely crushed T_T I added Cream of Tartar and Gelatine in my last-ditch attempt to salvage it, and went to "bed" thinking of more solutions.

Woke up and was pleasantly surprised that it was not as bad as I thought it would be. Although the middle layer collapsed (because the cream, that did not set, was not able to "support" it), it created this very moist chocolate layer between the top and bottom layers because it absorbed the "failed" cream. Guess what? My failed cream finally set (probably after all the "special" ingredients I added), and I used it to ice the sides of the cake (and I did a very poor job of it, but I shall blame it on the lack of proper equipment :P)

Ate a bite, and could not help it but to eat an entire slice because it was AMAZING :Q

But yes, back to topic. Walked around the fair post-Physio while looking for things to buy (or rather, trying to convince myself not to buy useless things that invariably catch my eye) while waiting for *gasp* Mary Berry.

YES I GOT TO SEE MARY BERRY!

Proud of myself - I didn't buy as many things as I wanted to, which was good, especially considering my austerity issue right not (I just bought myself a new bicycle today.......). Here are some photos just because I think they'd be more interesting than my words.
